Conferentie over Armeense genocide
De erfenis van de Armeense genocide, na 100 jaar

De heer Alexis Demirdjian, het NIOD Instituut voor Oorlogs-, Holocaust- en Genocidestudies en de Universiteit van Zuid-Californië – Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies organiseren op 6 en 7 maart 2015 een conferentie in Den Haag, om stil te staan bij het feit dat 100 jaar geleden de gebeurtenissen plaatsvonden, gewoonlijk aangeduid als de Armeense genocide van 1915-1923.
 
Aan het woord komen 25 wetenschappers en professionals van verschillende landen en disciplines, die allen bijdragen leveren aan een interdisciplinair boek over de relevantie van de Armeense genocide vandaag de dag en de gevolgen hiervan op de diverse studiegebieden.
 
Het onderwerp van bespreking tijdens de conferentie zal ook draaien rond het centrale thema van het boek: de relevantie van de Armeense genocide voor het heden, en de impact ervan op het gebied van de studie van rechten, geschiedenis, antropologie, politicologie, sociologie, literatuur, onderwijs en mediastudies. Een kritische discussie over de impact van de genocide is in deze tijd nodig en hierbij zullen een aantal aspecten van het huidige discours, zowel uit de analyse van het menselijk gedrag als van een retrospectieve kijk op de afgelopen eeuw aan de orde komen.
 
De conferentie en de voorafgaande kick-off zijn open voor het publiek en de toegang is gratis.

Conference on Armenian Genocide
The Armenian Genocide Legacy, 100 Years On

Mr. Alexis Demirdjian, the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies and the University of Southern California – Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies are hosting a conference on 6 and 7 March 2015 in The Hague to mark the centennial of the events commonly referred to as the Armenian Genocide of 1915 to 1923.

The conference will gather 25 academics and professionals from various countries and various fields of study who are contributing to an interdisciplinary multi-author book on the topic of the relevance of the Armenian genocide today and the impact this has had on various fields of study.

The subject of the discussion during the conference will revolve around the central theme of the book: the relevance of the Genocide today and its impact on the fields of study of Law, History, Anthropology, Political Science, Sociology, Literature, Education and Media Studies. A critical discussion on the impact of the Genocide is needed at this time and will address several aspects of the current discourse both from the analysis of human behavior and from a retrospective outlook on the past century.

The conference will be open to the public and free of charge.

Գիտաժողով Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին
Հայոց ցեղասպանության ժառանգությունը, 100 տարի հետո

Պարոն Ալեքսիս Տեմիրճյանը, Նիդերլանդների պատերազմի, հոլոքոստի և ցեղասպանության հետազոտությունների ինստիտուտը (NIOD) և Հարավային Կալիֆորնիայի համալսարանի Հայկական ուսումնասիրությունների «Դորնսայֆ» ինստիտուտը հյուրընկալում են գիտաժողով 2015 թ. մարտի 6-ին և 7-ին Հաագայում` նշելու հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցը:
 
Գիտաժողովին իրենց մասնակցությունն են բերում տարբեր երկրների և ոլորտների գիտնականներ և մասնագետներ` թվով 25 հոգի, որոնք հեղինակներն են միջդիսցիպլինար բազմահեղինակ գրքի` «Հայոց ցեղասպանության կարևորությունն այսօր և դրա ազդեցությունը տարբեր ոլորտների ուսումնասիրության վրա» թեմայով:
 
Գիտաժողովի ընթացքում քննարկումներն ընթանալու են գրքի կենտրոնական թեմայի շուրջ` ցեղասպանության կարևորությունն այսօր և դրա ազդեցությունը` իրավաբանության, պատմության, մարդաբանության, քաղաքագիտության, սոցիոլոգիայի, գրականության, կրթության և ԶԼՄ-ների ուսուցման հետազոտությունների ոլորտներում: Ցեղասպանության ազդեցության մասին քննադատական քննարկումներն անհրաժեշտ են այսօր և այստեղ անդրադարձ կկատարվի ընթացիկ քննախոսության մի քանի տեսակետներին` ելնելով ինչպես մարդկային վարքագծի վերլուծությունից, այնպես էլ անցյալ դարին հետադարձ հայացքով նայելու տեսանկյունից:
